Thanks for the support this weekend C-bus

The Idea Foundry wanted to give a special thanks to all the people that helped out on the iF A-holes project (in alphabetical order):  Jay Amstutz, Alex Bandar, Matt Bowman, Ethan Dicks, Mandy Howenstine, Alli Meade, Mike Newmann, Nikki Padgett, and Mike Schoenborn. Beginner Jewelry Making Class

Course Description:
Learn to smith a beautiful sterling silver bracelet out of a piece of 6 gauge wire.  Students will learn basic smithing techniques, sawing, texturing and riveting.  Class will be offered for 4 to 6 students.

Beginner Welding Class

The class is for people with no welding or power tool experience, and is designed to provide a basic introduction to the techniques required to fabricate a simple artistic metal object.  Participants will create their own metal candlestick holder, and will learn to use the following tools and techniques safely and independently:

When October 13 & 15, 2009 6 pm to 10 pm at the Idea Foundry

No experience necessary

The class will teach basic blacksmithing techniques: Using hammer tongs, anvil and forge, Drawing out a point, twisting and bending hot metal. The participants will take home several projects including candy canes, icicles, and possibly a cross.  This will be a 3-4 hour class for up to 6 people.

Thanks for the support at Independents’ Day

Thanks to everyone that stopped by to see us yesterday. Alex said the whole experience was a blast! Much thanks to our volunteers at the iF booth. Everyone is already looking forward to next year’s event.
