Galvanic Etching at the Idea Foundry

An example of how to etch an image into copper without using harmful acids.

I’d like to teach a class at the Foundry on how to create a “Steampunk display case”.  This will involve making a small wooden box, stained and lacquered, with a clear glass or plastic panel in the front.  Within the case will be a copper or brass plate, etched with an image or phrase (or both) chosen…
