Memberships

Memberships are available for $25 per month, and entitle members to visit the Foundry, use the classroom internet for free, and to attend monthly meetups. Tool use within the shop is metered at different rates, as follow:

Most stations (e.g. woodworking, small metal arts, casting, smithing, electronics, screen printing): $5/hour + consumables (e.g. gas, wax, sand)

Welding: $10/hour + consumables (e.g. gas, wire, rod)

CNC Machining: $25/hour + consumables (e.g. spoil board)

Consumable costs are posted in the shop.

Payment

Currently payment to the Idea Foundry can be made via check, PayPal, and cash. Invoicing for shop-time will occur monthly, with payment due upon receipt. Thank you!

Policies

Safety Training

Both members and  non-members are required to take a safety training class that will be administered by an associate of the Idea Foundry. Safety at the Idea Foundry is paramount. Severe or multiple infractions will result in banning from the shop.

Shop-Time Accounting & Tidiness

Clipboards for the various tool stations are located near the entrance of the shop, so that members may record their time.  Once you are finished using a tool station, please clean up and dispose of all discarded items appropriately. Further shop etiquette is included in the Member’s Handbook.
